Work with us

Build the rails of
modern finance with us.

TantraFino builds the issuance, acquiring and merchant platforms that banks, fintechs and enterprises run on. Small teams. Real production systems. Work that goes live in regulated environments across three continents — and code you can point at in a boardroom.

We hire for judgement and curiosity, not just keyword matches. If you like owning problems end-to-end and shipping software where correctness matters, you will feel at home here.

Own it end-to-end

From design review to production deploy — you ship, you monitor, you improve. No hand-off culture.

Regulated & real

Payments, ATM estates and issuance platforms. Your work clears real transactions for real institutions.

Two coasts, one team

New York and Chennai, one engineering culture. Async-first, documented, meeting-light by design.

Learn on the clock

Certification budget, conference days and internal guilds. Growing you is part of the roadmap.

Benefits

Taken care of, so you can focus

Competitive pay

Salary benchmarked twice a year against market data — no negotiation anxiety.

Learning budget

Annual certification and course budget, plus paid study days before every exam.

Your own hardware

Pick the machine and peripherals you want. We refresh on your schedule, not ours.

Annual offsite

Once a year the whole company meets in one place to plan, demo and celebrate.

Open positions

Nine roles. All hiring now.

Every opening below is a real, funded position, open at 0–3 years of experience — freshers and early-career engineers are encouraged. Click a role for the full description, then apply in two minutes with your resume.

Fintech delivery roles are based at client sites in the USA and Canada. Product engineering roles are Chennai-based or remote.

The mission: be the connective tissue between clients, engineers and leadership — the person who makes three time zones feel like one team and keeps every workstream honest about scope, risk and dates.

What you'll do
  • Run sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives for two to three delivery pods.
  • Own delivery trackers — scope, dependencies, risks and blockers — and drive them to closure daily.
  • Translate client conversations into crisp, testable tickets with acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare weekly status packs for clients and internal leadership: progress, risks, decisions needed.
  • Coordinate releases across teams in New York and Chennai, including release notes and sign-offs.
  • Spot delivery risk early — schedule slippage, scope creep, resourcing gaps — and escalate with options, not just problems.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years of experience coordinating projects or teams — internships, campus leadership and club builds all count.
  • Fluent with Jira/Linear-style tooling, Confluence-style docs, and release workflows.
  • Written and spoken English that clients trust — precise, warm and jargon-free.
  • A track record of shipping: you can show projects that went live and stayed live.
  • Comfort reading a backlog, a burndown and — ideally — a little code structure.
Nice to have
  • CSM / PMP / SAFE or equivalent certification.
  • Exposure to fintech, payments or other regulated domains.
  • Experience coordinating across US–India time zones.

The mission: be the trusted technical voice in the room — discover what institutions actually need, architect what we'll build, and stay engaged through delivery so what ships matches what was promised. This is a fintech, client-site role: you'll work on location with our banking and payments customers in the USA and Canada.

What you'll do
  • Lead discovery workshops with banks, fintechs and enterprises; turn pain points into solution blueprints.
  • Author technical proposals, effort estimates and architecture decisions clients can sign off on.
  • Design integration approaches across cores, card management systems, ATM estates and payment switches.
  • Build proof-of-concepts and demos that close deals — working alongside engineering.
  • Review delivered work against the agreed architecture and coach teams through deviations.
  • Feed market and delivery learnings back into the product roadmap.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years in software engineering, delivery or support — we hire for client presence and aptitude, not years in the seat.
  • Working knowledge of payments, issuance, ATM or core-banking integration patterns.
  • Ability to sketch an architecture on a whiteboard and defend every box on it.
  • Strong documentation craft: proposals, HLDs, integration guides that people actually read.
  • Pragmatism — you optimise for the client's outcome, not architectural purity.
Nice to have
  • Exposure to ISO 8583 / ISO 20022, EMV, tokenisation or HSM-based key management.
  • Prior pre-sales or solution-desk ownership with quota-linked outcomes.
  • A second language across English, Tamil or Hindi client bases.

The mission: design and run the services that move money and state reliably — APIs, integrations and data flows that stay correct under load, audits and 3 a.m. incidents alike.

What you'll do
  • Build and evolve REST/RPC services in PHP, Node.js or Python against MySQL data stores.
  • Design schemas and queries for correctness first, then make them fast — with the numbers to prove it.
  • Integrate third parties: switches, HSMs, KYC vendors, notification gateways — with retries, idempotency and reconciliation built in.
  • Write the tests you wish you inherited: unit, integration and contract coverage in CI.
  • Own your services in production — dashboards, alerts, runbooks and postmortems without blame.
  • Review pull requests like an author, not a gatekeeper.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years building backend services in at least one of PHP, Node.js, Python, Java or Go — strong internships and personal projects count fully.
  • Solid MySQL: indexing, transactions, migrations without downtime stories.
  • API craft — versioning, auth (OAuth/JWT), idempotency keys, pagination, error contracts.
  • Git workflow discipline and CI-friendly testing habits.
  • Security instincts: input validation, least privilege, secrets handling, OWASP basics.
Nice to have
  • RabbitMQ/Kafka-style queues; Redis; Docker-based deploys.
  • Payments or fintech production experience — switches, ledgers, settlements.
  • Exposure to HSMs, PGP-based key exchange or EMV data preparation.

The mission: build interfaces that make complex financial products feel obvious — fast, accessible front-ends for consoles, dashboards and customer portals that people use all day, every day.

What you'll do
  • Build production UIs in modern JavaScript/TypeScript with React or Vue against our APIs.
  • Own component libraries and design systems so ten screens look like one product.
  • Chase performance budgets: Core Web Vitals, bundle size, paint times — measured, not vibes.
  • Make accessibility non-negotiable: keyboard flows, contrast, ARIA done properly.
  • Partner with design on motion, states and micro-interactions — including the edge cases.
  • Instrument what you ship and fix what the data flags.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years shipping front-ends with React, Vue or equivalent frameworks — coursework, internships and a portfolio all count.
  • Deep HTML/CSS craft — layouts, responsive behaviour, and CSS architecture that scales.
  • TypeScript in real projects; state management you can justify (and have simplified once).
  • REST integration experience: auth flows, error states, optimistic UI, polling vs sockets.
  • A portfolio or repo you're proud to walk us through.
Nice to have
  • Data-heavy dashboards: charts, tables, real-time feeds.
  • Playwright/Cypress e2e coverage habits.
  • Design-system or multi-brand theming experience.
Apply for this role

The mission: make quality a pipeline, not a phase — automate the boring, catch the catastrophic early, and give every release a defensible answer to "can we ship this?"

What you'll do
  • Build and maintain automated e2e and API suites (Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, REST assertions) in CI.
  • Turn requirements into test charters — including the nasty edge cases nobody wrote down.
  • Own regression health: flake budgets, failure triage, green-build discipline.
  • Do exploratory testing passes before releases with a hunter's eye.
  • Drive load and soak tests for transaction-heavy flows; interpret the results with engineering.
  • Track quality metrics the leadership actually uses — escape rate, coverage of critical paths.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years in QA or automation — sharp bug-finding instinct matters more than tenure.
  • Programming competence (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java) — you write maintainable test code.
  • API testing fluency: Postman/RestAssured-style tooling, auth, assertions, mocks.
  • CI integration experience (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Jenkins).
  • A bug-finding story you're famous for — we'll ask for it.
Nice to have
  • k6/JMeter performance testing; SQL for data setup and verification.
  • Payments/ATM test experience — simulators, test-card regimes, settlement checks.
  • Accessibility or security testing exposure.
Apply for this role

The mission: put secure, delightful card and account management into people's pockets — one codebase, two platforms, zero "it's a mobile bug" excuses.

What you'll do
  • Build and ship Flutter features across Android and iOS from a single Dart codebase.
  • Integrate REST APIs with clean state management (Bloc/Riverpod/Provider — your call, defended).
  • Implement secure storage, biometric auth and device-binding flows for financial data.
  • Push pixel-perfect UI through review with designers — dark mode, RTL, large fonts, the works.
  • Own store releases: pipelines, signing, staged rollouts, crash-free score above 99.5%.
  • Profile and fix jank, battery drain and memory growth before users feel them.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years with Flutter and Dart — shipped apps, strong internship projects or standout coursework all count.
  • Solid Dart, async patterns and a state-management approach you can defend.
  • REST/JSON integration with proper error, retry and offline behaviour.
  • Git, CI builds and release discipline (code signing, flavours, hotfixes).
  • An app in the store we can download — yours or your employer's.
Nice to have
  • Native Android/iOS knowledge for platform channels and the occasional native fix.
  • Push notifications, deep links, app-review flows.
  • Fintech app experience — cards, KYC journeys, transaction histories.

The mission: write the firmware that lives closest to the metal — terminals, controllers and connected devices that run 24/7 in the field, where a reboot is a truck roll.

What you'll do
  • Develop firmware in C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M class microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, nRF).
  • Bring up peripherals — UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB — against datasheets and oscilloscope traces.
  • Read schematics, probe boards with the hardware team, and own the blink-to-bootloader bring-up.
  • Write drivers and HALs that later engineers will thank you for; document register maps and timings.
  • Add OTA updates and diagnostics paths so devices stay fixable in the field.
  • Unit-test what can be tested and bench-test the rest — with a lab-notebook habit.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years of experience — internships, capstone and personal hardware projects all count.
  • Solid C: pointers, interrupts and memory maps hold no fear for you.
  • Hands-on basics of at least one MCU family and one serial bus.
  • Comfort with datasheets, debuggers (JTAG/SWD) and logic analysers.
  • Electronics fundamentals — logic levels, pull-ups, power rails.
Nice to have
  • FreeRTOS or Zephyr exposure.
  • Secure boot or crypto-chip experience.
  • PCB literacy (KiCad) and wireless modules — BLE, LoRa, Wi-Fi.
Apply for this role

The mission: build deterministic, real-time behaviour into products — where a missed deadline is a bug and a millisecond is a feature.

What you'll do
  • Develop on FreeRTOS, Zephyr or QNX-class kernels — tasks, queues, timers and ISRs.
  • Model priority, latency and jitter; measure with trace tools and fix what they reveal.
  • Design inter-task communication — queues, semaphores, event groups — deadlock-free by construction.
  • Tune memory footprints for constrained MCUs; hunt leaks and stack overflows before they hunt you.
  • Work with hardware teams on interrupt strategy and timing budgets.
  • Port and validate board-support packages across hardware revisions.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years of experience — RTOS coursework, internships and hobby builds on dev boards all count.
  • Strong C and MCU fundamentals; you know exactly what volatile means.
  • Hands-on with at least one RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, QNX) — even on a dev kit.
  • Scheduling intuition: priorities, priority inversion, and how to design it away.
  • The habits of a careful engineer — assertions, watchdogs, defensive design.
Nice to have
  • Trace tooling — SystemView, Tracealyzer or ETM-class tracing.
  • MISRA / AUTOSAR or safety-certification exposure.
  • Wireless stacks running under an RTOS.
Apply for this role

The mission: give machines eyes, hands and judgement — software that lets robots perceive, decide and act safely around people.

What you'll do
  • Develop robot software in C++/Python on ROS 2 — nodes, topics, services, lifecycle.
  • Integrate and calibrate sensors — cameras, LiDAR, IMU, encoders — into one frame of truth.
  • Build and tune motion and control pipelines: odometry, navigation, obstacle avoidance.
  • Simulate first (Gazebo/Isaac), then deploy to real hardware without a rewrite.
  • Write the safety envelopes — limits, e-stops and watchdogs that keep robots safe around humans.
  • Debug on your feet: logs, plots and rosbag replay are your natural habitat.
What you bring
  • 0–3 years of experience — robotics-club builds and competitions (FIRST, Robocon, drone teams) count as real experience here.
  • Working C++ and/or Python; comfortable on the Linux command line.
  • ROS/ROS 2 exposure from projects or coursework — even a small documented build.
  • Kinematics intuition: transforms, frames and PID control at a practical level.
  • Curiosity for hardware — you want to see and hear your code run.
Nice to have
  • SLAM / Nav2 navigation stacks.
  • OpenCV and computer-vision basics.
  • CAN or EtherCAT field-bus experience.
